MAKEUP & EFFECTS LABORATORIES, INC. began in a small 1,000 foot and modestly equipped warehouse with only a handful of clients. Opening for business to little fanfare in 1978.

Over the ensuing years MEL has evolved into one of Hollywood's premiere makeup and effects laboratories. The enterprise growing into a busy 18,000 square foot facility equipped with machine shop, wood shop, vacu-forming machinery, spray booth, costuming shop, latex and urethane rooms, and an outdoor fiberglassing shed with the creative ability to handle even the most imaginative of visions including makeup effects, animatronics, props, costumes, special effects and more.
